Gas Fire Suppression Systems

Gas fire suppression systems provide a solution that ensures fast and effective fire suppression without secondary damage. Unlike water, foam, or powder, gas-based systems leave no residue and are ideal for areas containing sensitive and high-value equipment, such as server rooms, data centers, museums, archives, and industrial facilities.

Fire suppression is achieved by reducing the oxygen concentration using inert gases (argon, nitrogen, CO₂) or chemical agents (Novec™ 1230, HFC-227ea). At the same time, heat is removed from the source of the fire, extinguishing the flames and preventing reignition.

Benefits of Gas Fire Suppression Systems

  • Completely residue-free suppression – no water, foam, or powder
  • Suitable for protecting electrical and electronic equipment
  • Inert gases are non-toxic and electrically non-conductive
  • Minimal damage and rapid restoration of the protected area after suppression
  • Multi-zone solutions can be supplied from a single cylinder bank
  • Environmentally friendly – argon and nitrogen are natural components of air
  • Compact gas storage – requires up to 50% less space

Inert Gases – Oxeo Technology

Inert gases such as argon and nitrogen provide three-dimensional protection by evenly filling the room, reducing the oxygen concentration, and extinguishing even hidden sources of fire. This makes Oxeo systems suitable for high-risk areas, including flammable liquids, chemical facilities, industrial environments, and areas with a high fire load.

  • No residue and no damage to equipment
  • Non-toxic at fire suppression concentrations
  • Fast and simple ventilation of the protected area after suppression
  • High reliability and flexibility for future expansion

Halocarbon Systems

Halocarbon systems use chemical fire suppression agents such as Novec™ 1230 by 3M™ and HFC-227ea. These agents are:

  • Non-corrosive and electrically non-conductive
  • Environmentally friendly and safe to use
  • Ideal for protecting small and medium-sized rooms
  • Particularly suitable for IT, telecommunications, and electronic equipment areas

Thanks to an operating pressure of up to 50 bar, the pipework can be installed flexibly, while the cylinders can be stored outside the protected area.

Where Are Gas Fire Suppression Systems Used?

  • Server rooms and data centers
  • Telecommunications rooms and control rooms
  • Museums, libraries, archives, and cultural facilities
  • Rooms containing flammable liquids and chemicals
  • Industrial processes and high-risk facilities
